John McCain better watch it when he keeps saying "you don't understand" to Barack Obama. Turns out independent voters don't like that kind of thing. In fact, many see it as condescending. And those indie voters, it turns out, do think Obama understands -- and that he's on their side and is indeed ready to be president.
