Barack Obama has canceled his scheduled appearance tonight on NBC-TV's "Saturday Night Live," saying that with the recovery and rescue efforts happening now in Texas in the aftermath of Huricane Ike make such an appearance "inappropriate."
His campaign is asking for donations to organizations on the scene, assisting survivors. Obama is scheduled to return home to Chicago after a New Hampshire event today, then head back out on the campaign trail Monday.
